In the news

At Sanston we are not the smartest people in the room.  What we will do is tell you what you probably don’t want to hear and be brutally honest because we care to the core.  What creates great results are great teams.  This blog represents a collection of articles and in some cases resources that we believe can be useful to our clients in a very matter of fact way.  What we do have is lots of first hand knowledge and experience (bruises too).  If you’d like to discuss or learn more feel free to contact us we are always happy to have a chat and learn more and if we can help great, and if not then that’s ok too.

FOR ENTREPRENERUS
BLOG

for entrepreneurs from david.png

I was fortunate enough to work with David for a few years.  His blog offers great insights and resources for all founders that are on the journey to building a great company.

For all the companies that I see every year I am always amazed at how little they really focus on ensuring product market fit.  In the Australian market it is extremely difficult to raise funds until you can demonstrate this, and even if you could, the terms and conditions will kill you.

PREDICTIONS FOR A POST CORONAVIRUS WORLD

For a good summary of the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead, I recommend reading “7 Predictions for a Post-Coronavirus World”.

Having lived through, and been in owned operating businesses through the crash of 1987, the dot com crash of 2001 and the 2008 GFC the experience and knowledge gained through that period is useful in trying to navigate what we believe will be at least the next couple of years.

RAISING CAPITAL FOR SAAS
STARTUPS

Point Nine Capital out of Germany have been producing this napkin approach for the last little while.  We like it because it is very pragmatic and makes founders and boards think, and hopefully also have some level of balanced sanity! :-) You might also find this article useful, ‘How to know if your startup idea is worth $1 or $1B.’  Importantly, we can stress enough that value of demonstrating product market fit.  Until then it’s irrelevant.

JAN CAMERON BACKS ASX HOPEFUL NATURE ONE DAIRY

Having successfully completed a pre-IPO round that was many times over subscribed we are looking forward to continue to work with Nature One Dairy to what we know will be an exciting opportunity over the coming months.

Masie and Nick have done an amazing job building a great brand and manufacturing capability that we believe will scale to be another great ASX listed company.  During and post COVID-19 it’s a great business that will continue to benefit from the strong tailwinds created.
